Note 1: The context; Ali claims that Thunderf00t has committed slander that could lead to harm in the form of physical injury and loss of income. Considering the number of views Thunderf00t's videos in question have -- considering the fact he appears to be accusing him of being an extremist and terrorist -- given the atmosphere in today's society -- it could be said that Ali has a legitimate complaint to pursue in a court of law. What may come of such a lawsuit is an entirely different matter.

I do no think Ali would have any real success but this is America so... you never know.

Note 2: thunderf00t actually referred to lawyers Ali may have sought out but it comes to the same thing; an assumption. The truth of the matter is man such claims never get pursued because he cost alone for most people is prohibitive. Especially when there is no chance of reparations from the defendant if they lack money/ assets; lawyers will often warn a potential client of these factors. Maybe in the U.K. it would be dismissed out of hand but this is America -- we are a VERY litigious society.
Please keep in mind I am not calling Thunderf00t a bigot. I don't know the man enough to make that statement. I respect the work he has done on YT but do wonder at the direction his channel is moving in given the hostile atmosphere we have created towards Muslims in America. Perhaps he doesn't take the American perspective into consideration; I do not know.

Note 3: Some states (for example; NY) have some fairly decent laws protein employees from the repercussions of employee free speech outside the workplace. Realistically, I suspect an employer would have to be faced with an extreme example of some negative public behavior (bigotry or racism) before taking action against an employee who is speaking out publicly on say; politics.

So they have the right to know; but the employer has to be very careful how they take action. I would guess that most bloggers and YT'rs would have to sign a waiver for the protection of the employer's business.

  • TTP, how is TF responsible for dissecting the tripe Dawah freely posted in public? As far as his future employment is concerned.

Oh also you are the first person in a very long time that has piqued my interest on youtube. Thanks.

  • @kokobaboko Classifying someone as a terrorist is a very dangerous accusation to make in this day and age. That is really the only problem I have with what tf00t did in his Dawah videos. There is a potential for loss of future employment (unlikely, but still). But hey, you start making YT videos, that right there is a risk to your employment.

And thanks.I try to keep things interesting around here. :)

  • @TheTruePooka Oh darn,I was hoping for a free legal class. In any case, is it that you think the "veiled death threat" interpretation was an overreaction per se?

Never mind, I got my answer from 3:15 as I was replying to you. Thanks again.

  • @kokobaboko :P

  • Ya know, I'm not sure I can recall what set all this off-something to to with Viacom being douche bags, I think. We're a miles from there now, Kimosabe.

Anyhoo, I always like your vids-they are well done and I love that little slice of the Big Apple that you often include in them-its sweet. : )

  • @phenixwryter The catalyst was really the Ground Zero video he did. I will possibly do one more video on it and then I'm done with the whole matter as there are far more recent and relevant topics I can address, not o mention lols and fun. :)

  • @philateliceun I don't legally exist :3

  • @PinkProgram So I can drop your docs? Free speech right?

  • @philateliceun actually free speech on an open forum means you can say anything you want... but people can also say anything they want about you. If people continue to slander and defame each other they will lose viewers that want real information.

  • They were both wrong :3 Ali left himself open for ridicule by a person who has been known to exploit his opponent's videos. Thunderf00t has done the same thing to venomfangx and coughlan though not to the same extent ;3

  • I just started watching your videos so just kind of making my way through the backlog, but definitely like what you are selling.except I am not too keen on this particular one and to be honest I am not sure why. While witnessing this who dawah vs TF fiasco, I never felt that tf was, for the lack of a better phrase, a dick. Maybe I was just so under-impressed with dawahs arguments that I refused to let myself sympathize with him, but I also thought tf did a decent job of remaining civil and clear

  • dude you look like gene simmons.

  • I love his one two punch aproach. Thats thunderfoot. And what a knockout he is.-Team Thunderfoot.

  • That isn't what DawahFIlms was doing. He was trying to figure out WHO the person he was debating was. He specifically said otherwise.

    This was clarified by Hallcyon.
