The Morning Line is a groundbreaking experimental project by artist Matthew Ritchie designed with architects Aranda\Lasch and Arup AGU, commissioned by Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, which explores the interdisciplinary interplays between art, architecture, mathematics, cosmology, music, and science. A platform for contemporary music, it is as much an instrument as a building, saturated with speakers, using a unique interactive ambisonic system. Compositions by Bryce Dessner with David Sheppard and Evan Ziporyn, Riceboy Sleeps, Mark Fell with Roc Jiménez de Cisneros, Florian Hecker, Bruce Gilbert, Lee Ranaldo, Thom Willems, and Chris Watson.

  • I like the way Matthew Ritchie is trying to combine science, music, architecture and art. A bridge must be made between people. Everybody is going the same way, but a lot of people still don't understand this.

  • Absolutely brilliant, thank you for sharing this!
