This is our way of documenting and preserving the past for the future generations. Time Searchers, the original metal detecting adventure series-often imitated never duplicated.

Time Searchers is a video series dedicated to the research, recovery and preservation of historical artifacts. Each episode chronicles the search for evidence of our past history.

On this video The Time Searcher & The Colonial Relic Hunter are still hunting at the Old Colonial Blockhouse but a 150 or so yards away from the Blockhouse. The finds have been getting slim and it was time for a change to move closer up stream.

Bill is detecting up near the end of the plowed field & by the edge of the woods and the stream/creek is only a few feet away when Bill gets a very nice signal. Bill gets down and digs down and he sees the artifact still in the plug. Bill shows off a Big Old Colonial Musket ball. That's a special treat up here in the north.

Then later in the day Rodger gets a decent signal but thinks it could be a Colonial Button? Rodger gets busy digging and is shocked that he finds a King George Copper. Now Rodger is hunting with enthusiasm after a sweet Copper.

Now Rodger is got the swing going and gets another really good signal. Rodger pinpoints and starts digging away. After playing in the dirt for awhile; out pops a Colonial Lead Button/Curtain Weight/Coat Weights. These used to be a very common thing to find up here but now getting much harder to find.

Stay tuned for the other parts of the series and our up coming special events.

  • I grew up on the boarder for fayette and westmoreland counties. I haven't went out with a detector but I have been hunting arrowheads and other indian artifacts. I have a huge collection and must say how lucky I have been to live in such an amazing area that so full of history. Thank you for the video. I just bought a metal defector and I can't wait to use it. The ground is frozen now so when spring hits I will be out on the hunt for history again. Good luck in your hunting.

  • Good luck with the relic hunting and you are in a great area to find the great relics.!! Plus find a arrow head or two along the way. Keep in touch.. Bill

  • That was quite a hot spot!!!

  • Well, I'm actually in Fayette county right on the WV border. I'm always running around the Uniontown area. You guys have me very interested in this, I'd really like to get into it for the exercise and excitement. What sort od machine would you reccomend?

  • Well all I can tell you it is in Armstrong County. What county are you from? Some areas we hunt are in Indiana, Cambria,Somerset, Fayette, Westmoreland counties just to list a few.

  • Where is this location? I'm in Pennsylvania myself, but all the way on the south-west corner. Fort Necessity is 25 miles from here, I'm really considering getting a detector. What type would you reccomend?

  • Thank you very much! AC/DC was going strong in my high school years!! :>) Now My son Ian loves AC/DC... I must have done something right!!.. Haha!! I love music and I like mixing things up..well with Ian's help with that too.. :>) Thanks for your support.. Bill(pa)
