Super super excited :D anyone heard Emma's American accent yet?

I love how clever she is and immediatley she said the word 'teen' she backed off and called it something else because she doesn't want this to be seen like a kiddie film.

@0730Ender The novel touches many itchy issues; not only sex and drugs, but also date rape, homosexuality, abortion, bullying at school and child abuse. On the other hand, it also talks about loyalty, friendship, brotherly love, and the role of a good teacher shaping a student's mind. I guess the soundtrack will also be interesting, since there's a strong emphasis on music. You may draw a list of "books you must read before you die," including "Catcher in the Rye." So yes, read the novel.

@0730Ender Yet, I don't want to leave the impression it's just a story about sex and drugs. Charlie is a loyal boy who wishes to please people around him, but finds it hard to make friends. That's how he gets attached to Sam and Patrick, her step brother, who are three years older and take him in their group of firends. Charlie has deep psychological problems, which are revealed by the end of the story, when he almost has sex with Sam, but after that he starts getting well.

@KillswitchJohn Sam is a free wheeling high school girl who cares for Charlie as a friend. She has her own boyfriend, with whom Charlie hears her having sex with during a party. There are drugs during those parties. Sam's step brother is gay, and he gets to kiss Charlie sometime in a confussion. Sam helps Charlie to get a girlfriend, with whom he has sex, but he loves Sam. When they break up with their respective boy and girl friends, he's about to have sex with her but he he can't,

I remember when Emma once mentioned she'd like to make an American teenager movie, and I was like WHAT? ARE YOU NUTS? Of course I thought she was talking about something like American Pie. On the other hand, Perks is such a strong novel that I'm wondering if Chbosky will really be faithful to it in the movie. It wil be great if he dares, and it will be a huge step away from Hogwarts for Emma. She will be "infinite."
