BOOK TRAILER: In search of a place to call home, thousands of Hmong families made the journey from the war-torn jungles of Laos to the overcrowded refugee camps of Thailand and onward to America, but their history remains largely unknown. Driven to share her family's story after her grandmother's death, Kao Kalia Yang's memoir is a tribute to the remarkable woman whose spirit held them all together.visit http://www.johnobrienvideo.com and http://www.coffeehousepress.org to purchase

  • This book is awesome!! I cried buckets of tears throughout it all!! So much heart was put out in her writing. Love it! Truly a must read!!

  • For my Asian-American course, one of the books that we have to study on is the latehomecomer by Kao Kalia Yang. From reading this book, I came to a realization that knowing about the past is a significant knowledge to obtain and securing that knowledge is something special for your own self individual.
