Testing a smoke detector at my house. I was holding saucepan with pine needles burning; when i went down my mom was yelling at me to put it in the sink. I used a tripod, but my camera isn't mine!

  • I know this is like 3 years ago but what model is that???? (oh the peeps that made it)

  • @1999seals The model is "BS-655" revision 2 or 3 (former models have the same model name) of Olympia electronics. I consider them slow in detection and i don't use these models for new systems. They have site, 3w olympia-electronics gr

  • @Ladiesman2175995 The neighbor was about to sue us for these sirens. They are not that loud outdoors but they are perfect to cause a mental breakdown if you hear them for 4 days continuously. We were away for 4 days and for no reason the fire alarm went off. Currently I have disconnect them and it sounds via the burglar alarm which the monitoring center can turn it off remotely.

  • @Avenom1 I know that it's not installed correctly, i don't disagree with you! I couldn't do anything else, I have my parents who don't want to see the detectors, and these damn beams! In order to compensate in a way with this problem I have installed two smoke detectors on that ceiling, each covers the half of the room. One solution is to paint the detectors with varnish with wood color. I have to disassemble them, take their covers away from the mechanism and paint them.

  • @ConoTube like I say, it is not installed correctly. But hey, it looks good right?

  • @Avenom1 It's a wooden roof and it has beams every ~3ft, this is one of the many. I chose to put it on the edge in order not to be visible.

  • That smoke alarm is not installed correctly. I've worked in the Fire detection industry for seven years, so i know what i'm talking about. Never install them in corners as it is a "dead air" space and will take far longer to activate. Also not compliant by the way. Remember, every second counts.

  • its like a commerical fire alarm

  • thought it sounded like a police car at first.

  • @ConoTube your smoke detector sounds like a war alarm
