jake shields is overrated. he lost vs kampmann he didnt deserve a title shot against GSP. he has no stand up. his ground game is good but not that great. ellenberger is a much better fighter. i hope winner of sanchez/ellenberger vs winner diaz/condit and losers should fight to. great matchups

@forbesfoofighters I bring up the Condit fight simply cause you said he was horrible. I was stating the obvious that Jake wasnt in shape for that fight, Carwin should be praised for stopping Mir and Gonzaga. I dont judge anyone based on one fight, just like Shields...Looked bad against Miller, Kampmann, GSP and Ellenberger which were all fairly recent. I base it on skills, Shields are limited and Ellenbergers arent. Time will tell.

ellenberger will never get close to a title fight as long as nick diaz, koscheck and fitch are employed by the ufc

@cujo905 why do you keep referring back to the condit fight to prove your point? he pulled a shane carwin he looked absolutely horrible in that fight, should we praise carwin for dominating lesnar in the first round? haha just tell it like it is, ellenberger has only 1 win worth mentioning. if you wanna keep playing the 'short notice' card then ill play the shields dad died before their fight card which could discredit ellenbergers whole resume as the only good win on it could be because of that

@forbesfoofighters Oh foresure, MMA math usually doesnt work. Shields has had 3 fights in the UFC against great competition and 3 very poor performances. He'll be falling down the ladder while Ellenberger will climb. Well you dont like when some (not me) judge a fighter like Ellenberger after the Shields win yet you're judging him on the one Condit fight which he took on short notice, wasnt in the best shape and looked damn good in the first rd.

@cujo905 like u said styles make fights just cause ellenberger can beat shields doesnt mean he can beat the the guys shields can or beat as many top guys. just because maia beat cheal dominantly doesnt make him a better fighter. shields is top 5 and ellenberger isnt

@cujo905 sanchez sucks balls look what kampmann did to him that doesnt mean kampmann has the style to beat anyone. even if he manages to beat diego he will never get past kos, fitch and diaz and im not a fan of anyone ive named i dont even like the welterweight division but its just the way it is. he looked horrible against condit how is dominating someone then gassing and getting your will broken looking good? haha

@forbesfoofighters I know he hasnt accomplished alot yet, however the talent is there. Im not overhyping him, I just think he has the tools and style to beat most welterweights. Time will obviously tell but thats just what I see. He looked awesome against Condit early but gassed, wasnt beat by anyother reason and it was on short notice. I respect your opinion but Ive like Ellenberger before he even was in the UFC, not going by one fight. Watch what he does to Sanchez

@cujo905 based on what do you think he will beat any top guy? his record sucks quite frankly. he had a good style match with shields just like story did alves your argument is non sense. maybe if he had even 1 or 2 more credible wins but he doesn't. cant wait to watch you guys fall off the hype train. penn, diaz, kos, fitch, alves > ellenburger. ellenburger has not proven he's elite throwing 1 knee that ends a fight doesnt make you elite. this guy will never make it to a title fight.
