More on 'the didn't quite work out' subject: bouncing in an inverted square base pyramid. This was performed only once at the Yale juggling convention back in 1997. The complexity of the three dimensional patterns never quite translated to the audience. Harder for me and pretty much looked like my Orthogonal piece. It was also a bitch to move and set up so I abandoned the idea.
