Following the success of the All-Male Pirates of Penzance last year, All-Male Iolanthe has transferred from The Union Theatre to Wilton's.
Universally regarded as Sir Arthur Sullivan's all-male Iolanthe's most beautiful score, Iolanthe is a topsy-turvy love story involving fairies and members of the House of Lords. A perfectly pertinent story for today, where a coalition is wittily struck between the Liberals and Conservatives. A political fairy tale that only Gilbert and Sullivan could conceive.
Directed by Sasha Regan, with design by Stewart Charlesworth, Choreography by Mark Smith, with musical direction by Chris Mundy and musical supervision by Michael England.
"Entirely enchanting" - Time Out ****
"... The Union's All-Male Iolanthe is camper than a field of tents but it looks superb, sounds divine and ends happily, who could ask for more?" - Evening Standard ****
