@VolturousKossae o and i train in wado- ryu karate in case i havent already mentioned :)
-
@VolturousKossae same, i hate it when people here about me training in karate and then do a stupid karate kid mipression -.-
and i agree with you that quite a few instructors around are only interested in making a profit and not actually teaching the art. I cant' perfect a technique either and i'll come home bruised and battered but having thoroughly enjoyed the training session :D
-
Maybe I'm just sensitive because ninjutsu is being victimized everywhere - and totally because most practitioners are lazy and don't wanna do things for real. When I go home from training I have multiple bruises and I haven't made one "perfect" technique because my uke fights back with force. But I have learned how to protect myself.. Most don't do that..
I train in Shadow Warrior Bujinkan btw..

@lankydude1000 not starting a fight or patronising, just trying to help you understand. And remember its only a tv programme, they cover the basics of things. Its not ment to be very indepth, just interesting :)

@VolturousKossae i know what you mean, dont take it the wrong way or anything just tryin to help you out a bit.I find it more effective if you kinda roll the arm via the elbow as its painful.Just trying to help you understand, and remember their are probably more than one style of ninjutsu and it varies from instructor to instrutor.I know this because of my background in wado-ryu karate and have trained with a few instructors of the same style.Hope this helps you understand. Not starting a fight

He stops the attack, then pulls the attacker down by applying pressure on the elbow joint. I could think of a hundred moves more ninjutsu than this.. Attacker kicks with right foot, defender takes a small step to the right with his right foot before the kick lands and kicks with his left foot the attacker's left knee (I currently have a scar on my shin from this - we don't kick knees that hard).. Simple taijutsu fit for a video like this
-
@VolturousKossae bro try it, if you sidestep and go with it, you'll be suprised at how much momentum people make when they attack. and your takin the wrist, they wont go down but theyll be in a bad position where you can dislocate the shoulder, break the arm and kick their face
BTW I've been traing in karate and have used this in class (:

accualy it is mainly just Americans that dont understand that all martial arts are different. people who accualy care about the art they do would take time to reserch what it is that they are accualy learning. and no, the fighting style was not part of ninjutsu. there is no historical evidence that would show that ninjutsu pertained to fighting in any way. now, the ninja did learn fighting techniques, however, this was not part of ninjutsu.
-
@ipownfroobs yes,but ninjutsu is just a well known term for those old techniques, utilized by the ninjas..
so why be a hipster and change the name of something everybody understands better the way it is..
it would just complicate things
btw. the ninjas´ fighting style is also part of the ninjutsu..

Yeah now all I have to do is remember that move in a real situation where adrenaline is at peak and the opponent attacks very fast. Would I have the reflex and the memory to perform this? Will the opponent just stand there letting me pull him to the ground? No, they will improvise too...
hey, wanna see my new kni-...... WTF? MAN!
