  • You wouldnt happen to have any KYDEX sheaths left would you? It seems its impossible to find any Fallkniven A1 with kydex sheaths nowadays.

    Just wondering, thanks

  • @redeemer61190

Hi, No I don't know of any, just the leather and zytel. the kydex has been out of production quite a while now. Unless you have one specially made?

  • dont get the black coated one, it wears off, get the stainless steel version, ive got one and its a very solid survival knife and a defensive knife aswell.

  • @androgenix

Hi. In one respect you are right about the coating, that it will wear off, but bear in mind that the coating is not a 'protective' one, as say a powder coat (VG10 is a very good stainless steel and doesn't need protecting) the coating is there solely as a non reflective. This is specified by the military, whom Fallkniven supply and Fallkniven offer this to the general public as an option as well.

  • I have the A1, which I bought after much research. I love this knife. It's a big, heavy, sharp piece of equipment, and it feels good having it handy when I'm out in the woods, to kill grizzly bears or mountain lions with. ;)

However, I was disappointed when I first got the knife and tried cutting some small gauge steel wire with it, This is something that a Busse could do all day. However, the wire knocked small chips out of the edge of my Fallkniven. I thought they were tougher than that.

  • I have had a F1 since 15years and used it a lot and it is still very good.

The Swedes know how to make good knifes...

  • @androgenix Stainless steel can give away your position. I'd rather have a non reflective blade, and an EXTRA coating to keep it stout than the cheaper shiny version. As would MOST people ; )

  • @workwearcanadacom Thanks for the reply. Well, I guess as long as Zytel is just as good as Kydex then its good enough for me.

One thing that concerns me though is that I hear a lot about laminated VG10 chipping easily. But others say thats just because of the factory edge, and if you were to sharpen it yourself, then the edge would be more chip-resistant.

    Any thoughts on this?

  • @workwearcanadacom well its true what you say but i'd rater have a shiny good looking knife even after some rough use than a shabby looking coated knife full of scratches. Anyway i highly recomend it, practically indestructible (exept the coating naturally), and a joy to hold and use, this is my #1 knife, noone else ive owned is even close.

  • @workwearcanadacom omg are you kidding me, most sites out there dont have them , i mean some do but they are far away , i didnt bother to order it from your site cause i looked on your site and it didnt show so i figured you dont stock them either, i allready bought the knife at a local store any way you can sell just the sheath? i will buy it right away
