Figured I'd make a run of this considering I've seen a few improvements in most runs of this on youtube. Not sure if this is a world record, and not really caring to look it up if it is. It'll probably be beaten if it is.
Just to summarize the improvements that I made, there are about three. One that I used in every level, is gaining speed faster by hold left and right for the first few frames. You gain speed faster like this, but once you reach a speed of 24 subpixels, he stays at 24 subpixels if you keep holding.
Another is the flagpole skip, but most everyone already knows about that. I've seen it used on a run from tasvideos, but no one on youtube has really recognized that the glitch transferred from the original game to this one. You learn something new every day.
A big one I don't think anyone knows is going from the bottom of the screen to the top with use of the moving platforms. Only really useful in 2-2, but still saves time. Might be useful for a warpless run, but not too sure.
Might redo this, might not. I like it though.
you should submit this on tasvideos*dot*org

@YourFunBeginsHere I personally don't like that site so I don't plan on contributing to it, and I doubt they'd accept it anyway.

How different are the AS SMB mechanics from NES SMB? Could you reuse a NES SMB TAS?

@Gameboygenius From what I can tell, its pretty spot on. All the same glitches are in there, and a few more added, and it plays pretty much identically. I doubt that you could use the nes input, mainly for the fact that I think that there are some lag differences.
