Hi, Great work. Is the black scratched away to reveal the white? (I'm not stealing technique as I dont work in clay!) Really nice proportioned pieces, quite striking. More please.

Hey Raftsmanship,
you got it...it is black underglaze painted on the entire piece and then carved away to reveal the natural clay body underneath...the technique is called 'sgraffito' which is Italian for "to scratch". thank you for your comment. your work is absolutely beautiful and wonderfully presented.
