How I Detangle & Shampoo My Long 4a Natural Hair (Up-close Look)

The detangle/shampoo/condition/twist process takes me about *45 MINUTES* from start to finish. It's about 2.5 hours total if I blowdry and flat-iron "The Works". At the time of filming this video, my hair was mid-back length (fully stretched)

I recorded this video earlier this year. I never got around to uploading it because I thought I was going to record more footage and add it to the video. I finally edited it and here it is... Time really flies!

MY DETANGLING AND SHAMPOO STEPS

1) DETANGLE & TWIST: I remove as many tangles and shed strands as possible before wetting my hair. Then I put it into twists, then detangle a little more.

2) RINSE : I do a really good water rinse before applying shampoo

3) SHAMPOO/CONDITION ONE SECTION AT A TIME:
I like to unravel the twist one at a time and work with one section of loose hair. Sometimes I use a Denman brush during the conditioning step.

4) FINAL RINSE: After conditioner has been applied to all of the twists, I rinse the conditioner out of the twists without unraveling them.

5) AIRDRY OR BLOWDRY:
Once I'm done with the final rinse to the twists I apply a leave-in and then allow my twisted hair to airdry. Sometimes I also may blow-dry my hair instead.

Yes, I do comb through it after taking out weaves, as long as there isn't any matting or excess tangles. When I have tangles I prefer to use my fingers.
