What Do You Think about Ubuntu Linux?

As far as Linux distros go, it's likely the easiest to use. Any time I say something about one distro instead of another, a war tends to break out. They can all agree, though, that Ubuntu is about as close as Linux has come to being mainstream thus far. http://chris.pirillo.com

windows doesn't need to go away for linux to get popular. they can coexist. linux isnt about pwning the competition its about having a choice and being free.

@Reallush you know you can use Adobe CS5 Photoshop on Ubuntu using Wine. I use it now on Ubuntu 11.10 when I need some extra features that GIMP doesn't have.

@webDes33 Ubuntu is derived from Debian Linux. No their Linux is not the same as the others. It's like saying Mac OS X is the same as FreeBSD, because they referenced off of it. Ubuntu's development team has done a great job at making Ubuntu it's own OS and it's definitely my default now. Ubuntu to me is more professional than any other Linux available. It's definitely the only ProAm Linux out that competes against Windows and Mac OS X.

I'm developing premium C++ software for it now using Qt :)

Linus is a great backup/web browse OS but for other things I'd choose windows or mac since those 2 OS's are able to use Adobe's software.. I heard Gimp was so great.. I installed it.. and after opening.. I was like.. how the hel am i gonna work with this..and there goes Ubuntu's graphic editor..

here it is 10-7-11 about 1.5 years after this up loaded and Ubuntu has grown tremendous and it is still what i consider a power user os if your going to do any thing more them web and email and chat over the Internet but it has come a long way and the only thing i can not do on Ubuntu is watch netflix and high end gaming other then that is is a very good and solid os

and correct it works so much better then xp on older systems like this amd 32bit xp2100 with a 9600xt video card and 1 gig ram
