I really like your videos first off. The VCDO is a 'pry it out of my cold dead fingers' module for me. The perfect foil with warm analog oscillators.Check out my tracks on virb - better audio, and VCDO all over the place. Especially the track called Perspicacity. Thanks for your fine music!

What are you using to get those groovy syncopated drum sounds? Is that the 730 with modules? Or a drum machine.

That's Stylus RMX running in DP. Some of the loops are standard 'real' drum loops and some are chopped up modular previously recorded modular jam bits that I (rather time consumingly) chop into slices in Recycle so they can be sped up and slowed down in real time. Since the loops are layered afterward, I freely move the 'one' around and such.
thanks for asking!

also: about syncopation - I freely layer beats against each other where they're 'not supposed to go', like starting a loop on beat 3 and a half and another on beat 2 if that's what works feels good against the improv. And that changes as it goes along -the perceived 'one' at any given moment.
