We had a chance to hang out with Amber Marshall at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto this past Sunday. Amber brought her extensive knowledge of horses to co-host the Rodeo at the fair; proving that this is indeed, not her first rodeo.....

  • Her extensive knowledge of Horse's WHAT? If this is indeed the CBC, then I would expect better grammar and/or proofreading!

  • @AnimalLeftist this is so absurd! did you hear her say they were bred to buck??? You could even hear the tone in her voice change that it was the prepared statement to say if she was asked that question. She wouldn't pass a lie detector test lol

  • Heck, the world of "breeding horses to buck"? Let's quote from a breeder, shall we? "It takes hundreds and hundreds of breedings, to get a few who will buck." They are cloning GELDINGS, because they have no idea which horses will hate people and the flank strap enough. Have you ever flanked YOUR horse? Why not? It doesn't bother them, right? ALL HORSES buck. Every. single. one. Just flank 'em up, they'll either freeze, thrash in panic, or buck wildly. Nice attitude rodeo has for a TAME horse.

  • @220671ful, why is the length of time one's been in riding relevant to animal abuse in rodeo? My stick is bigger than your stick? I've been in the horse biz for over 35 years, teaching, training, riding. You should check out more videos of rodeo. No need to go behind the chute. What's in front is bad enough.

  • Woww, Amy's amazing! I wish I could live like her!

  • She's Gorgeous, really love the show!!

  • thankyou for replying to my post while i agree that rodeo is not the nicest sport in the world i do think that these people do not do what they do out of a malishous love of seing animals suffer but out of sport whitch i know at times can be just as bad and there are many people in society today including you i assume that are against rodeo. But i would ask are you informed about what realy go's on behind the seen or just guessing. And no i did not read that in a book. bin riding for 10 years

  • @220671ful, read that in a book, did ya? ALL horses are "born to buck". They buck in fear, pain or play. What the flank strap does is not play. Broncs are any breed at all. Just torment them the right way, and they'll buck alright.

Why I quit going to the Royal? = Rodeo. In the same arena where the greatest horsemen ever have ridden, it is disgusting to watch these animals being tormented as they struggle against the flank.

  • the whole bred to buck thing is true these horses are chosen as they have a very strong buck and are treeted just like athleats with proper nutrition and housing in a barn or on a ranch. As well when they get to old to preforme they are retierd and go live out the rest of their lives on a farm like any other horse in any other disaplin. Thankyou:p

  • "Bred to Buck" my a**.
