here's the story in a second,
(i might make another channel for my dulcimer endeavors, because i feel like what i would play on dulcimer would be a different genre than what i normally post on here, not that i think you won't be interested, but i like organization, it is www.youtube.com/shaniplayingdulcimer and i'll make it in a second)

so here's the story, just getting used to my appalachian mountain dulcimer form Barea, Kentucky that was gifted to me by an older woman who goes to my church. she ordered it a while back but never learned to play it, and now she wants to pass it on to me, since i enjoy my stringed instruments. she spent a pretty penny on it and thought i deserved it so i'm very happy and flattered to have it.

then, coincidentally, i met another lady at my church who plays and me and her got together today to play. she polished my instrument up for me and taught me some tricks of the trade, then we went through some simple songs in the book. she also gave me an old dulcimer case of hers because what i had was a quilted gigbag.

  • Oh man, I do have to get a dulcimer again! I miss mine! Yours is so beautiful and sounds lovely! Where is your dulcimer channel? I can't find it! Want to subscribe. :-)

  • well, since i've played some string intruments, to get started is not tooo hard, like, what i've done here is pretty simple, but just like with uke, you can do a lt of simple stuff real easy but the more complicated stuff gets harder and harder. there are some people out there who do some craaaazy stuff with it.

  • dang! that sounds crazy-cool!

and thanks michelle! its much appreciated! :)

  • haha! thanks Brandon! they're fun, i recommend it! you'd probably rock it too
