UMK3 JAMMA Board ATX PS (No Display)

Just finished wiring my UMK3 JAMMA board to an old ATX power supply I had laying around, so I shot this video. It's mostly for myself, but I figured somebody might be interested in it, so here it is. I don't have any way to hook it up to a display yet, so it is just sound. I also don't have it hooked up to a control panel yet. This is the first time I have powered this board up since I've owned it (I got it 8 years ago) so I wasn't even sure if it worked. Any questions, feel free to ask.

I recently purchased a Marvel vs Capcom 2 dedicated game. I'd like to buy more capcom fighters and use the same cabinet. What is needed to convert from one game to another?

I don't really know much about those cabinets. From what I have been able to find, MvC2 uses the Sega Naomi system, so I'm pretty sure that means you have to buy other games that are also Naomi cartridges and just swap out the carts. If you want to play regular JAMMA games (Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat, etc.), you would probably have to remove the Naomi system. If the cab is already wired for JAMMA, you're in luck. I don't know what kind of connections the Naomi system used. Good luck.

how did you wire it

I bought an ATX power supply extension cable, cut it in half and soldered the correct voltage wires from the JAMMA connector to the female end of the extension cable. (5V to 5V, 12V to 12V, -5V to -5V, and GRD to GRD) Since I soldered the female ATX socket directly onto the JAMMA harness, I can plug in any ATX power supply in seconds. how do you know what wire is which, i have a mk4 machine and half of the power suply is missing...i have a square plug with nowhere to connect. it powers the board. colors are 3 red, 3 orange and 3 blk, and 2 single wires dif colors. im guessing red is +12, org +5, groung blk. help me?

Since I used a standard ATX PS I just looked up the pinouts on the internet. Since yours is an arcade PS, I'm not really sure. I have an arcade machine with a PS that sounds similar to yours, so I'll check that out and get back to you. Also, don't assume that the wire colors are the standard colors, or you could end up frying your MK4 board.

i heard that sega used the gdrom that is in the dreamcast on there arcade systems so maybe it has a gdrom drive in it and all you have to do is just get another game and change discs. though i could be wrong and it could involve more then that.

do u know how to adjust a arcade game screen my picture moves up and down do u adjust with the tv screen, power supply or game board do u do repairs on this board i have a extra umk3contaCT ME ON MY PAGE
