It isn't designed specifically for Tablets. It has the functionality for tablets, so Microsoft didn't have to go through and make a standalone OS for each device. Mouse and keyboard will work as normal, and gestures (a guess) are more than likely enabled/disabled through the Control Panel. This is nothing like XP to Vista. That was a completely different interface. Vista to W7 was awesome, they improved on what Vista was lacking. I'd imagine the same from W7 to W8.

looks soooo stupid

with all this tech from MS...they still can't make Internet Explorer get closer to Chrome's performance...

Windows 8 on a tablet makes sense. Some guy mentioned down a bit that "gestures" make Windows 8 insanely fast. Well gestures aren't going to do much for people who still use a mouse and keyboard. I like that there's an option to have the button back for those who want it.

I'de rather microsoft make an OS that's really really really good instead of bullshit tablet pc rubbish

I am just wondering when window 8 is being released , does people need to buy a new desktop or laptop for compatibility? Since it looks like a touch screen thing??
no one cares about this. I need a job.
