Go into any gym in the world and you're more than likely to find the majority of people there running on treadmills in an attempt to melt away the pounds.

But have you ever stopped and asked yourself if it's really the most effective method for fat loss?

In this video I give 5 reasons why I am opposed to running for melting away fat, and why you should be doing resistance training with weights instead.

  • whatever. just run. the only way to get better at running...... is to just run. people love to come up with easier ways to lose weight, but it doesnt work as well. just run.

  • why do you talk so complicated ..and make weight loss process so confusing ..

    here si the thing any kind of cardio even moving ur leg at one place burns some calories so running ,walking is very good not only to loose weight but to feel good about urself so doing something is always better than doing nothing make running effective and interesting by making variations in speed walk .jog run ....and so on .drink lost of water and EAT RAW

  • I think the best way to lose weight is probably high intensity cardio like spin class, but I think running is still pretty good.

  • You're an idiot to think consistent cardio in the form of running or jogging does not burn fat and calories. It's proven science that it does. The fact that people like you spread this bullshit and nonsense, speaks wonders why so many are confused about how to lose weight.

    If you want to lose weight, get off your fat ass and do 30 mins of cardio 5 times a week and eat fruits and vegetables. It's really that fuckin simple douchebag.

  • People hate running because they never learn to do it the right way. They heelstrike and swing their arms over their chest and thats what causes injuries, not "imbalances". And running definitely increases metabolism after you stop because I usually run 50 or more miles a week and eat 4000 or more calories a day but if I take a week off and continue to eat the same way I don't gain any weight at all.

  • @Gruuten - I don't know Gruuten - what is your target heart rate? You need to identify what that number is and when you do your workouts - target that for maximum results. Everyone's target heart rate is different. My target heart rate is 167 - but when I run it is betweent 160 and 175 depending on the level of intensity.
