Dance clips from the first big festival of 2007 in Shizuoka City, Japan. Our little Emily got into the fun and was invited to join two groups of dancers who helped her learn the steps. This particular festival is especially large with food vendors and event venues throughout the grounds of the Shogun's castle and dancers filling the downtown streets. From this particular festival forward there will be smaller festivals held throughout the city nearly every weekend until late September. The people of Shizuoka are known in Japan as very conservative group though they sure do love to dance and party!

  • Can you tell me the name of this song? I used to dance with this song but I did not know the name of it. It was so fun and I love it so much. Thanks if you can give me some information abt this song :)

  • Hello jinnyo, Thank you for watching and commenting. I've asked my wife though neither of us know the name of this song. I'm very sorry that we do not have the information you are looking for. -Kurt :-)

  • Hello Kurt, I went to see a festival in Shimada city, Shizuoka last week. It was fun!

    Bye. Toshi

  • Hi Toshi, I'm glad to hear that you guys had a nice time at the festival over the weekend. I looked for you at the Yada shrine festival last weekend but you were nowhere to be found. Too bad as there was free sake and beer going around and everyone was having a great time. I hope to see you next time! -Kurt :-)

  • i love thad japan got OGM alot festivals :D i love it

  • @anaisabelperez Shizuoka is a large city though it has a reputation (well deserved) as a quite place with conservative people and ways. The city is like any big city in Japan being crowded, noisy and expensive. The great thing is that it's easy to escape the city and anyone can be in virtual wilderness within 30 minutes. I certainly recommend Shizuoka as a good place to live, especially if you are interested in a somewhat quieter way of life (compared to Tokyo). ~Kurt :-)

  • @ilikesakura2005 whats life like in shizuoka? i want to live there one day it looks like a beautiful city as well as japan. Do you recommend living there?

  • Ah! My Japanese School at Vietnam dance this song too. Oh I miss this dance. Hope this year my school do this too.

  • i guess the best part of the party started together with rain ))
