The Castle has a swannery and I was there yesterday volunteering for the RSPB and along came the lady with food for the swans and ducks. There are Canada Geese, Whooper Swans, straight yellow beaks with black tips as opposed to the mute swans with orange beaks. Black Swans and shellducks, Greylag geese etc. We also enjoyed seeing the mating display of two Great Crested Grebes, one was offering the other some weed found in the lake for their nest. Lovely to watch. Unfortunately they were too far away to video with my camera. We saw them through a telescope.
