Ward Churchill denies free speech for Columbus Day celebrant

Ward Churchill at the Glen Miller Ballroom on the University of Colorado-Boulder Campus on February 8, 2005, tells Bob Giusto of the Sons of Italy that he has no First Amendment right to celebrate Columbus Day and that he should be treated as a criminal if he does so for taking away Churchill's "Right to dignity."

Churchill is a bully, but he's intellectually feeble. As Madison said in presenting the 9th amendment, its point is that by listing rights the people DO have, framers were not suggesting that other rights, not mentioned, automatically do NOT belong to the people. (Example: right of self-defense isn't in Bill of Rights, but that doesn't mean people don't have it.) The purpose of the 9th was obviously not to grant ALL possible, imaginable rights. How do people swallow Churchill's silly nonsense?

1. enforces, protect and honor agreements, contracts and treaties, this inherently includes property

2. sets up the boundaries of power, term limits, and checks and balances of the offices

3. regulates commerce and trade
