The breakthrough was needed by the sign of the day
Singing out our revolution, children show the way
They made out a charter sealed with a song
It took me across the river to where I belong

Hurry home to your heart, hurry home to the voice
There are times for inner changes, be ready for the choice
Hurry home, said my love, hurry home to the stars
Start a new generation with the freedom that's ours

My friend said bear me witness, I'm coming alive
For the first time in our history no mountains to climb
Be the living soul of this time, be ye wise as the moon
Be the first new generation coming home, coming soon
They call it the cleansing of the loneliest soul
It's an honor just to be alive, from this love we'll never fall

Hurry home to your heart, hurry home to the voice
There's a new point to living and a freedom of choice
There's a call throughout the kingdom, there's a call throughout the land
Be as clear as the stars above, holding love in your hand

We're gonna change your history, we're gonna change your style
I've been watching for many years, we're growing so wild
Be the children of the future, be the children of the age
I'll be standing there being counted with the strength that it takes

Hurry home to your heart, hurry home to the voice
Hurry home to your love

  • 'In the city of angels' in 1988.

  • heard this in '98, in hospital, and there was a chance I wouldn't be going home at all. My boyfriend did me a mix tape of Yes & Floyd love songs, this tune was on the B side and my favourite. When I told him, he said he'd only done one side & thought it was a blank tape. Turned out it had been an old tape of his & just a happy coincidence this was on it. I got better & had a joyfull 9 years with him. Sadly when my partner died in '97 this song took on a new meaning for me. Thanks for uploading.

  • What a beautiful, positive song. I've just lost a dear friend and this is like salve to the soul. Thank You St Jon xx

  • Beautiful !!!

    Blessings of Love and Light.

  • An awesome ending to an epic album. GO JON.

  • The lyrics are for us to analyze. We are entering a new era of love. More Love, more Equality, more Peace.

  • I still have this album I bought in July 17 of 1988! It is a great album. Still is. Jon Anderson is the YES man.

  • @Hondaboy27160478 Hello again. I think you will definitely know that depth of love again someday. I can feel that you have it within yourself and so will attract it again. So cool...... You're age is pretty young but I bet you have a wise old soul and like you said, it's the depth that counts. Blessings to you.

  • @PapillonOne: Cheers, I was 38 when my partner died in his car aged 47. I'm 42 now but thanks to his sharing his love of Yes & other 70's prog rock groups, I got out my head out of the pop charts when I was 23

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I'm lucky to have known such love for 13 years. Although believe love isn't measured in years but depth.

Maybe one day i'll know it again.

  • ANDERSON@HIS BEST!!!

  • Jon and Vangelis- an inspiring and profound combination. We need songs like this more now than ever. Thank you Jon for the words and cudos to the graphics creator. Beautiful.

  • @Hondaboy27160478 What an excellent sharing - I love happy coincidences! ....glad you survived and sad your partner didn't. May I ask if you are younger than your 50's? I'm 57 and remember so many great groups. I love youtube for allowing the revival of this music.

  • I can't decide if I like this version or the Change We Must rendition better. Both are incredible..."it's an honor just to be alive"
