We drilled the first well of the September Campaign from the Abenea school in Northern Ethiopia. charity: water needs $1.5 million to build 333 wells in Ethiopia. To find out how you can help, visit http://www.borninseptember.org
Having worked in this field for years, wells break and/or eventually go dry. Then what? In my opinion, Michael Pritchard's water filter that makes filthy water drinkable is a better and cheaper option. Charity:W is just a fundraising organization 3 yrs. old. No long term studies of the depletion of the water table is documented on their site. I wish they had a better strategic plan than just "donate".
$4500 for each well? Why does it cost you so much money when you are a non profit organization? It can't be labour costs, as most people in Ethiopia make only around $100 for an entire year.
god less you...
