Sammy's New Kong

His beard doesn't normally look this scraggly, I swear. He just scruffed it up with all the chewing.

Any suggestions for what else I can shove in there? What do your dogs like in their Kongs?

One of the things the little pamphlet suggests is carrot sticks...really?

I only found out a year ago what a kong is. (I'm a cat owner). But my best friend has a dog and told me about it. Cool idea for a toy! Keeps them busy and concentrating. She does what you do - peanut butter and dog bisquits.

Please understand that dogs are meat eaters. Humans are both plant and meateaters. As meat is easier to digest then plants, the intestines are much shorter with meat eaters. Practically this means that carrots are not digested like all plants. Why does a dog eat them/like them? Because a dog is not a wild animal anymore and is influenced a great deal by us. Carrots and other human food are no replacement for dogfood.

My dog hates carrots. I like using peanut butter as well, but every once in a while I'll use Pupperoni. She's about the same size as your dog.

Klause threw up raw carrots after thanksgiving so we don't go the carrot route. Ranger and Klause like cheese in their stuff-able toys.

Hehe, what a cut e little guy. I've known dogs that liked celery and lettuce, so I guess carrots aren't out of the question.
