May I make comment for what it is worth , in the 40's 50's and 60's beds we slept in had a tightly woven base of wires they are not made any more, seen many at the rubbish tip being disposed off, akso try the second hand oportuneaty shops so cost next to nothing they are great for sifting all the stones and rock out of the soil,

@KristieSue Thanks. I just 'inherited' a tiller and some garden tools. Life was so much more simple before! So far I have two 20x30 gardens, and two raised bed gardens. I guess time will tell! I have nothing to lose since I have no money invested in gardening so far. Your gardens look great and if you're satisfied, that's all that matters!
Would Cypress mulch work for weed control? I just got 10 bags for free. Do you can any of your tomatoes? You should be glad I'm not your neighbor. I have too many questions about gardening and you seem to have the answers judging by your great garden!

@2late4me2care I don't know for sure if that will work but google it. I find lots of answers that way. I don't mind answering any questions but I'm definitely not an expert. Everything I do is from trial and error learning. I have to try something to figure out what works best for me. I've been criticized for having my plants too close or too bushy blah blah blah but I do what works for me and I get plenty of produce to preserve and eat fresh.

not enough space between your plants

@cpilfold420 I was able to harvest plenty of vegetables using this method. I don't have a lot of space to work with.

Beautiul garden!!
I'd place the "kid area" away from where your peppers are growing - kids just have that tendancy of placing everythng into their mouths.
