it's easy to stand from your fortunate position and call other people dumb, but it's important to remember that you don't know what those other "weak minded" people have been through. maybe they had bad parents, or a bad childhood? and advertising is more powerful than you think... look up "darren brown, inside your mind" he uses the power of advertising on people who create it and mind f*cks the brains out of em with it. everyone is effected, to what degree is another thing altogether.

They say they're not influenced by tv, but thier lives are so obviously designed around tv shows and ads. I see too many unhappy people trying to live tv lives, getting badly in debt, and just basically feeling miserable because they don't "have it all".

I got rid of tv. After a while of no tv life became a lot better. I stopped worrying that I had some disease or needed antidepressants. Every adult I know is on an antidepressant. It's scary what tv does to people, even tho they insist they're not influenced by it. I've also noticed that people who watch tv only eat breakfast foods that are advertized on tv, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, cereal, etc. They think I'm wierd for eating beans for breakfast.

I am not. I rarely watch TV. I thought people use the internet more today than tv. I research everything before I buy. I don't buy blindly like most people would do.
