    If you really don't know, I'll let you in. That's Michael McDonald (listed in the title). He did a ton of session stuff with Steely Dan before joining the Doobie Brothers. Short of speed metal and rap, McDonald can sing whatever he wants & it will sound good. He could make "pop goes the weasel" sound cool. He should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (at the very least) as a contributor.

    I've seen these guys tour together this past year as The Dukes of September: Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs. I think they're going to tour again. . .GO TO THIS SHOW IF YOU CAN. It's an amazing compilation of all their best songs together. What an amazing show!! Not to be missed.

    but that said - man his vocals on "Peg" are sensational. interesting to hear his take on the making of it - how difficult it was with the demanding tight harmonies.

    "Classic albums" series the making of "Aja" is such a fantastic doco. I thas some very illuminating moments highlighting the wry and to be frank "cutting" and sardonic humour of Fagen and Becker. when they are highlighting the vocal harmonies of MM they actually say "sorry Michael" because you can hear that even he is not perfect on the highs. But what a fantastic vocalist and song writer with the Doobies. Funny moment on Aja when they solo all the lead guitar tracks that didn't make it. ouch!
