Mental - I was a regular there (with mates who later squatted on Digby Crescent), and even ended up playing there - sort of - Bob Dog kindly agreed to let us play on the tiny second stage. Gathering all the Digby Crescent crew to carry our equipment back to the squat at three in the morning was an experience I'll never forget...(If you happen to read this, Bob - the SKUD boys say hello!)

I used to do some work for the Video company that filmed all the gigs, Taste TV, run by a guy called Bill Wood, lots and lots of footage done, Shoreditch town hall gigs, Fridge gigs, London Uni stuff, Ozrics, RDF, Magic Mushroom band, BTTP, Senser, Cringer, Hawkwind, Caravan, gong, etc... Bloody great!

The Robey - Time out described it as, "the dark, dank haunt of London's grebos, squatters, punks and dropouts."I loved it!

Did my uni dissitation on club dog, filming manchester all nighter approx April 1995.

Then he & the other bouncer ran off & left one dead & the other guy all sliced up. I ran as there wasn't much I could do (some people were with the bleeding guy). But we found out that they pulled him away & got him to a hospital but the robey cunty bouncers coame back & shifted the dead guy & dumped his body in the park where it was found the next day.

Fuckin awful stuff.

Ruined what had to be one of the nicest gatherings of folk in London.

I was there & saw 2 robey bouncers pulling out 2 guys & dragging them up the road opposite. A few off us ran to try to stop the bouncers but they were tooled up & knifed the 2 guys. I threw a full bottle of grolsch at the cunt who killed the guy, missed but I managed to kick him off the guy but he grabbed a bit of wood from a skip & swiped it across my arm.

The Robey bouncers were cunts, loads of people got serious kickings from them, fuckers broke a friends's already broken leg (it was setting) with a baseball bat, but the worst of all was in 1990 when they killed someone & dumped his body in Finsbury Park.
