Very Hard Landing - Delta CRJ-700 in Jackson Hole, WY

Likely an Embry Riddle graduate.

With the short runway at JAC, there's no room for a floaty landing. Pilots need to put the aircraft down solidly. Add to that the CRJ's firm gear and it seems like the plane's being slammed into the ground.
Of course, it sure does beat the alternative, which some AA pax discovered the other day! LOL

must be IOE

A 747 sure cannot land there.

FYI, CRj-700's land in about twice the distance of CRJ-200...so the runway's actually still a pretty short one, but long enough for CRJ ops.

Nice, firm landing! I didn't realize Jackson Hole was one of those "just get it down" runways.

Here's the problem. In the cockpit:sinkrate pull up. Sinkrate. Pull up. In the cabin:ohhh I hope I can see her. Oh look. There's the runway. Ooooofff. My head. Back in cockpit: I think I broke my balls

Child filming -_-!

"SINK RATE! SINK RATE!" lol

shows how strong and well designed these CRJ's are :)

I miss Jackson!

Was the window misalined because im going on a Skywest Delta Connection CRJ-700 next month.
Not every landing can be a greaser...and for a CRJ-200 to use up a whole runway tells you the runway is short. Typical landing for a short field approach...

@f18jock Yes, clearly it was the proper approach and/or landing. This doesn't mean that it wasn't a very hard landing, because it was. I'm not ranting on the pilot, or the airline, so just keep that in mind.

Ouch. I had a bit of an experience like this with Airtran. I was flying back from a visit to Embry-Riddle. The touchdown was very firm. Great video.
