Charles Heck - Original air date; 3-05-01 Mr. Heck was North American Director of the Trilateral Commission for almost twenty years (1982-2001) and now serves the Commission as a Senior Adviser and Member. Educated at Oberlin College and Yale University , Mr. Heck worked as a Teaching Fellow at Yale and for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace before joining the Trilateral staff in 1974 as Assistant to the Commission's founding Director, Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski.

How prescient of Charles Heck to be aware of the limitations and dangers of believing in the false 'hyper strength'of the United States. Nor was he attached to the belief that 'American values' (which have, ironically, been so ruthlessly overthrown by Bush, Cheney et al)are transferable, desirable or even desired by every other country in the world. When the U.S. shakes off its subservience to the super-rich at the expense of the average American then it may again inspire the world.
