  • It could be, I am still not 100% sure what #3 is for, looking at recent pics of the South African production, there is no way the Phantom could reach #3.

  • that part is very complicated because the rings are made of 1/4 thick perspex. I had to make a thin piece of plastic with holes along the edge to string the beads to then glue that onto the rings.

you can look at the photos here, it may explain it better

  • the rings of the chandelier actually hang off themselves. If i was to let it fall to the stage it would totally collapse one on top of the other. Th=o give it the crumple look, I had to glue in a piece of plastic that would stop the main middle ring from falling flat, it sort of keeps it up in the air so it just falls to one side

  • the stage is a piece of thick plywood to support the weight, with a big hole cut out in the middle of the stage. then a piece of perspex / plexi glass over the hole with the traps cut into it. the top layer is just some shiny black plastic.

  • the theatre is just a wood frame, ply wood and dowels

  • yup, just nylon string

  • @bajanwhiteboy maybe not in that production, but you can find videos from London where the Phantom pulls the cable and the chandelier rocks.

  • Are you going to make a miniature show? It would be cool with the lights and effects; I would watch it every time!

  • I want it!!!!

  • Maybe rope #3 is a backup for rope #1. that way if rope #1 breaks then rope #3 will cactch it and swing it towards the stage instead of straight down. that's my guessing. lol

  • You're a genious, you inspire me.

  • Thanks! One more thing: How do you attach the strands w/the beads on them to the rings?

  • Hey! Thanks for the stuff. Question: how do you keep the chandelier together? Internal structure? Also: how do you go into 'crumple position?'
