PILGRIMS PRIDE cost over 1500-2000 jobs just in the city of El dorado, ark a city of about 21,000+ not a super big city or a little city but that many jobs loss hurts alot of people
since Pilgrims Pride shutdown in El Dorado, Ar i've had to relcate to bought over company which is now own as Farmer Farms in Farmerville, louisianna i have to travel 34 miles a day one way with 5 other people . that use to work at the El Dorado plant in Arkansas i have a friend that has to travel over 70 miles one way a day to foster farm in farmerville, la because of the shutdown of the el dorado plant
as a former employee of pilgrim pride employee they lay off of over 2000++ wasn't need Pilgrim Pride like many othesr are make millions if not billions of dollars a years they aint hurtting as we are... they dont know the meaning of being broke as f*** and never will
This is why the US needs a Quota System. Quota allows for farmers to get an income which covers the cost of raising the animals such they can receive the best feed, environment, and life possible. By forcing farmers to compete for the lowest dollar, animals suffer. Capitalism and Farm Animal welfare do not fully integrate, and Quota allows Canada the ability to humanly produce chicken, compensate the farmers fairly, and deliver a quality product to the consumer. The same goes for the Dairy!
I have personally seen pilgrims pride workers throwing live chickens in Lufkin, Texas. The stories I have heard from workers of what goes on inside the plant would disgust Larry Flint and make Cor. Sanders give up eating chicken. Everything from animal cruelty, drugs, and sex go on INSIDE the plant. I have seen employees drinking outside on there lunch breaks. This is a fact.
No, it's all real, I've seen this in the undercover videos of PETA, where there IS incidents of kicking, throwing, slamming, and stomping chickens in cruelty. If you don't believe me, then go to PETA
