Also, black men drive BMWs.

In his method, wit and intelligence, and musical invention he reminds me of Frank Zappa. Better voice (by far) lesser guitarist (by far).

I remember, when we saw him live he told the actual story of going to Aspen. Apparently they went into a restaurant, which it turns out was just closing down. So they were just fixing to leave when one of his companions went up to the waiter and they had a brief conversation. Buddy came back and said "it's cool, they'll keep the restaurant open." When pressed he said he'd simply pointed to Stew and said "Do you know who he is?" And the restaurant staff never asked ^^

i think i know what he is saying in this song, since everyone is doing the "black thing" black men are going to go do things black men "don't do" because everyone else is "copying". I'm trying to remain pc but base language is the dialect of understanding the un-define-able.

Nobody's posted a video for his masterpiece Rehab. Where can I find a torrent or free download of Rehab? It's one of the best written songs in history especially for someone growing up in LA.

Anybody else feel the need to make sure somebody you know has the chance to hear the goodness that Stew and Heidi have put together in the last couple of decades?

How do I give more props to this vid, besides a "like" and a "favorite"?

Stew started off as a poet but wisely put his words to music.I have loved his stuff from day one.I guess more so that I am a long time poet and songwriter also. His combination of wit and humor mixed in with a firm stand on human rights and all of are everyday stupidity is nothing less then brilliant. The Negro problem-Welcome Black is an absolute must...there isn't a bad song on there and it really grows on you...I found the song Bleed .. and was blown away.Enjoy ..Stew is as cool as they come.

Wow! Saw this fellow on PBS last night (Passing Strange), and was/am spellbound with the depth of the lyrics and emotion in his writing and melody. I mean, WOW! His songs leave me fighting to catch my breath. He sings what I think. I've been looking for this music all of my life, and stumbled upon it channel surfing. Whoda thunkit?

Simply put, Stew is the best songwriter in the U.S., perhaps the best working in English.
"But you're not the mahatma, that's a whole 'nother religion."
