Part 2. What not to do at an interview. It's a comedy. It's funny...so... laugh or else.

This was totally Improv...

Filmed with the Canon T2i... The battery died on my Rode Videomic so this audio is from the internal mic on the T2i. The audio's not bad... just hard to pic up dialogue from far away.

  • Was this recorded with one t2i or 2?

I'm curious because i tried to record some improv dialog with two people and 2 takes. Take one the camera was pointed at person #1 and take two the camera was pointed at person #2. While editing I found it kind of hard to match the dialog because it was two different takes and improvised, but still on the same topics.

What was your method of doing this? Your dialog and editing came out pretty well.

I used the T2i. basically, i had the actors improve their lines for each shot. i'd film one actor saying his line, then stop recording, go to the 2nd actor, and he'd improv his lines. The 2nd actor had to remember what the 1st said, and roll his lines off that, but in a different take.

you can also have the actors do their lines over again, but in different shots. maybe 2 or 3 takes or so. and when your editing, you can use the one that works and flows the best for you. Thanks.

  • lens?

It's the 50mm 1.8... not bad for $100 bucks. Do you recommend any other lenses?

Yeah, the thrifty fifty looks nice. Good work.

No recommends yet--I only have the kit 18-55.

The Tokina 11-16 2.8 lloks interesting...

Not yet. Just need to know what people are using to make good looking videos. This 1.8 50mm isn't called the trifty fifty for nothing.

I'm still leaning towards the 1.4 though.
