As the first milestone towards our ESE 350 project, we have demonstrated that we can successfully use the mbed as a USB game controller in Windows.
Because our analog joystick has not arrived yet, we are using a 10k pot for each joystick axis... suffice to say, playing Minecraft with a screwdriver is not very fun, but it gets the point across that the mbed can communicate properly with a game over USB.
This is the first step in a larger project, titled "FPS360", which is our final project for ESE 350, a microcontroller course at the University of Pennsylvania. Our desired end result is a viable means of playing first-person shooters on the Xbox 360 using motion capture. For more information on our project, please visit our blog: http://fps360.blogspot.com/
This project is the joint work of Paul Gurniak and Jin You.
