Dragonetti's New Academy. Recording studio performance of Domenico Dragonetti's Quintet 18, I. Andante. The group consists of John Feeney on double bass, and the Loma Mar Quartet, composed of Krista Bennion Feeney and Anca Nicolau on viola, for this one (Anca usually plays violin), Joanna Hood on viola, and Myron Lutzke on cello. This music was released in 2009.
Wonderful! To see the recording first hand is really great. Thanks for posting this. So sublimely musical!

The musicianship is so outstanding, bringing such immediacy to this music, that I thought at first it was a new composition. Interesting instrumentation and thanks for making this available. It's great to know about this quartet after seeing them on PBS with Paul McCartney at his Library of Congress honor last night. Which Stradivari instruments were they using for that performance?

I have received a PPS presentation that has All I Ask Of You (The Phanton of the Opera) background sound played by Anca Nicolau at violin solo. Would you know the album where this song was recorded?
