Like others of a certain age I loved to hear Fyfes voice with that beautiful, light, highland accent. Always interesting and a typical character of his time.

Fyfe Robertson is my hero, because he said words to the effect that the 11+ selection for grammar schools was "an administrative swindle designed to make the number of children passed equal the number of places available". Was it my imagination that it seems that he rarely appeared on BBC after that?. Did he upset the "establishment"? Does anyone know?

The first series had a song called 'Robbie,' i think. part of it went...'of life and death and work and play, let's hear some more from Robbie!'

The first series was a scottish band's rendition of a folk song, which I am not sure of, but the second series was Arrival by Abba, from the eponymous album.
Nigel - his grandson!
