Using the Basic Stamp BS2p to drive a butterfly valve with a futaba servo which will allow unmetered air to enter the engine for the purpose of leaning the mixture. A HHO device is fitted and O2 sensor will be disconnected for this experiment. The board will read the frequency based MAF sensor to determine how much air to let in. The Pot will control the maximum opening.

  • Hey ,

can i ask you some technical questions?

Does the servomotor consume electricity power when it is idle, as in not moving at all?

    Thanks for your answer

  • @chelvis7 Yes it is. It is fed by a pulse from the stamp board and the encoders would be constantly working to maintain that position while the pulse is coming in. Obviously it would consume more power when it is pushing something

  • @jbalatutube Thanks for your swift reply. Can I say that there are two situations where the servo motor draws power. One is when it is idle, and one is when it is under load. So there are basically two static power consumption situations which means there is no dynamic power consumption that I can think of? Am i right or wrong? thanks again, really appreciate your help.

  • Way to go!!
