Using the article on claw clipping from the HH forum, this film also shows photos and video to demonstrate how to do it safely, what you'll need, and techniques.
Cutting your buns nails can seem like a daunting job, especially to a new bunny owner, but once you and your bun get used to it, it's a very swift and easy procedure, and will become part of your regular grooming routine.

  • Thank you for posting this video, we watched it before clipping our bunnies claws for the first time and it was very useful! : ) Thanks!

  • @willaholic Thanks, glad it was useful :)

  • What a sweet bunny! What kind of bunny is he...a harlequin mini rex?

  • @hollymamma Thanks, yes he's a Harley M/Rex. He (Bertie) was such a beautiful bun, but passed away suddenly last August :(

  • really helpful!! ive tried a few times to get my bunny on his back to lay like that, but he kicks and squirms so much, but i fear that is my lack of knowledge of how to put him in that position! I will defo try it your way!! then i may actually be able to clip his nails!

  • @SailingBetty Thanks, putting a bun on it's back is stressful for the rabbit, and it must be done with confidence so it feels secure. If you have someone around who can stroke the buns head/face while you do it it may help. Wrap the towel around quite firmly, and keep the procedure as short as possible. Make sure you reward afterwards!

    Good luck :)
