Save energy, save money Series seg. 1, make your house safer and healthier. Can be retrofitted on almost any structure.Insulating crawl space concrete walls. Installing a 6 mill. vapour barrier. Using 4" pvc pipe the area under the plastic gets exhausted continously thru the draft created from a riser pipe running up a chase or a outside wall. This will remove radon and anything else below grade. You will keep mold down in the whole house. If its new construction be sure to install the riser in a chase the higher the pipe the greater the draw and pressure. Imagine all these 4" pvc tubes poking thru the plactic continually sucking the air out from under the plactic. This system should be used in any climate. Because you don't know what could be in the dirt under your house! This is the first in a series of save energy/save money. If the passive draft will not provide enough mitigation you can add a bypass when you do the install. That would be 2 wye's and a 24" section of pipe. Here you can add a exhaust fan, if you need better numbers. You can buy test kits now that can cover more than just radon.

  • Um i just wanted to make my crawlspace better. Maybe a simpler video for us rookies. Maybe you should just "shut it down" ala Chef Ramsey.

  • @robdog15001 FYI Vapour barriers can reduce heat loss as much as 26%. I will work on being more clear with my clips. THX

  • I do this for a living. this is a very poorly done crawl space. everything is done wrong. please disregard this video

  • @thomashofseth Could you be more specific. I'm using pressure differential and convection to mitigate off gassing. Tell us all how to make this better. thx for viewing.

  • Crawl spaces are more prone to humidity and radon concentration. They need to be properly insulated and made radon-proof. The video is really helpful.

  • Do not use R-13 use at least R-19 ! 6" thick min.

  • thanks--for response--im going to begin my crawlspace work before winter arrives !!

26% is too much heat loss---thanks robdog

  • i know eh, i cant even tell what the hell is goin on under there.
