"Towards Low Carbon Societies: what is needed after Cancun?"

Monday, 28 February 2011 10:00-12:00, Tokyo, Japan
Organised by Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES)
Supported by The Asahi Shimbun Company

Ms. Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention
on Climate Change (UNFCCC), delivered the Forum's Keynote Speech. The
subsequent Discussion Session, placing special emphasis on the Cancun
Agreement reached at COP16 last December, encouraged a free and lively
exchange of opinions regarding what is required by national and
international stakeholders in order to make progress towards the
construction of a global low-carbon society. Over 160 people participated
for this open forum.
