A short ninjutsu demonstration on how to take out an armed sentry. You cannot use a choke-out to eliminate a sentry who is armed - that will give him time to fire his weapon which could injure you or alert other sentries.
Instead, you must take care of him instantly so he doesn't have time to do that - cut his throat with a knife (shown here), or use a lethal shot with a silenced firearm for this. After taking him out, it is advisable to hide his body somewhere and take his clothing, weaponry and tools to pose as a sentry. Because of passwords, codes, and face recognition that the other sentries might use, it is advisable to only use the disguise to get close to remaining sentries without arousing suspicion, and then take them out from there. This strategy should only be used in large camps with many sentries, so seeing a sentry's face you don't recognize wouldn't arouse suspicion.

If you are traveling with a team of several shinobi, each of you can eventually eliminate a guard per shinobi, so you can all disguise as them. By doing this, you have multiple false guards, making it easier to keep your cover and opening all sorts of possibilities like causing confusion among the other guards, getting into higher-security areas, or capturing high-ranked officers.

  • Except that nowadays, posing as a guard if you are not masked will not ammount to much. if they don't know you, they will know you're not one of them.

Aside from that, cool stuff, it's common sneaking tactic they teach in the military, it's pretty nice.

  • @irregularzero Also, I wasn't clear in my last post - you wouldn't take their clothing and disguise yourself all of the time - it just depends on the situation. If you were infiltrating a huge camp with hundreds of guards, it might be a better idea to disguise yourself. If there were just a few guards though, no need to, really. Many different options and strategies are to be used. Just my two cents - I'm no expert. Thanks again for your comment! :)

  • Thai was another great demonstration I like what you said about taking their clothes for some henso jutsu. By the way did you notice the floating orb in the second part of the vid? I think you might have caught a ghost on film.
