«Аэрофло́т — росси́йские авиали́нии» — крупнейшая российская авиакомпания, национальный авиаперевозчик. Штаб-квартира — в Москве.
Основана 15 июля 1923 года постановлением Совета труда и обороны РСФСР «Oб организации Совета по гражданской авиации» и «О возложении технического надзора за воздушными линиями на Главное управление воздушного флота». Название «Аэрофлот» было закреплено за гражданской авиацией СССР 25 февраля 1932 года.
«Аэрофлот» — член Международной ассоциации воздушного транспорта (ИАТА).
Базовый аэропорт авиакомпании — московское Шереметьево (терминалы 1 и 2). К 2007 году намечено окончание строительства нового собственного международного терминала «Аэрофлота» Шереметьево-3.

JSC "Aeroflot - Russian Airlines" (Russian: ОАО «Аэрофлот - Российские авиалинии»), or Aeroflot (Russian: Аэрофлот) as the airline is commonly known, is the de facto national airline of Russia.[3] The largest airline in Russia, based on passengers carried per year, Aeroflot is one of the oldest airlines in the world, tracing its history back to 1923. Based at Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport, the airline operates domestic and international passenger services to 93 cities in 47 countries.
During the Soviet era, Aeroflot was the Soviet national airline and the largest airline in the world.[4] Since the dissolution of the USSR, Aeroflot has been transformed from a state-owned bureaucracy into a semi-privatised airline which ranks amongst the most profitable in the world.[5]
Aeroflot has embarked on a fleet modernisation program, extensive route restructuring, and an image overhaul, in order to bring the airline up to world standards. The airline joined SkyTeam in April 2006.[5]

Aeroflot - Russian Airlines (Russisch: ОАО «Аэрофлот - Российские авиалинии») is de grootste luchtvaartmaatschappij van Rusland. In de tijd van de Sovjet-Unie was Aeroflot tevens de grootste luchtvaartmaatschappij ter wereld, op haar hoogtepunt in 1991 bestond de vloot van Aeroflot uit maar liefst 50.000 vliegtuigen. Aeroflot vliegt naar 108 bestemmingen in 54 landen. In 2000 vervoerde de luchtvaartmaatschappij 5.100.900 passagiers en 107.000 ton vracht.
In 1923 is Aeroflot opgericht als Dobroljot. In 1930 werd de naam veranderd in GVF (Grazjdanski vozdoesjny flot, "Burgerluchtvloot"), en in 1932 in Aeroflot. In de huidige vorm bestaat het bedrijf pas sinds 1994 toen het bedrijf geprivatiseerd werd en de nieuwe naam: Aeroflot - Russian International Airlines kreeg. De Russische staat heeft nog wel een meerderheidsbelang (51% van de aandelen). In 2000 werd de naam veranderd in Aeroflot - Russian Airlines.
In oktober 2006 werd een dochter Aeroflot Cargo opgericht voor het vervoer van luchtvracht.

As far as I know, the Aeroflot has not Airbus 330 and B757. The only airbus they have are 319, 320 and 321 series. Aeroflot has B767. They often are used for Transatlanic flights to the United States of America. I looked to the flags of the Aeroflot and Transaero, and the colours look like similair at the first sight. However, The Russian flag is White, Blue and Red, the colours of Transaero are Red, White and Blue, like the French flag.

The airbus is a part of the Aeroflot fleet. Their registation numbers are among others VP-BQV, VP-BQV, VP-BWE.

Aeroflot is a very nice airliners, they got it all md-11's , ilyishin's, tupolev's, boeing's, and airbus planes.Now that is an airliner, I hope they buy some A380's with their sheme on it.Slava Rossiya from Europe

I flew aboard Aeroflot during the mid 1980's - about 15,000 miles throughout the then Soviet Union. I attempted to fly aboard as many Soviet aircraft as possible. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience although the service quality of cabin crews varied greatly. I suspect however, that many of them were more shy of Westerners than deliberately unpleasant! Their cabin equipment was also of mediocre quality but I know its much, much better today. Overall, I'd love to do it all over again.
