Why the hell do people keep hating on this play? How is a trick play for 25 yards worse than a run or throw? Neither of them gain you 25 yards in average?

Note the ball is on the far hash and to throw it straight to the far sideline requires a pretty strong arm. This doesn't look like single A high school either. But yeah, it would have gone for 6 if it was down field a little.
