So, I will be starting my autobiography here shortly, what would be my first step?

Lulu gives you a paperback sold on their website but also any bookstore including B and N can purchase and carry it in their stores. You're right, completely edit and spellcheck and make lots of copies.

Wow! I'm impressed! You have a good eye for CMYK vs. RGB. You are right and I have now added that to my "fix it" list.
Also, Amazon used to call it "DTP" (for digital text publishing), but has since updated their name to "keep us on our toes." DTP is now called KDP (Kindle Desktop Publishing) but it is the same website and service.
I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial. I hope it was helpful.

Hello, thank you for your comment. Your "copyright" occurs as soon as you put pen to paper. You can, if you like, apply for an official copyright for your document. Additionally, you will want to purchase an ISBN number for your book. Either way, make sure your manuscript is finished first.

Copied from @EmilyHillWriter's video page (I think I removed it by accident when I replied.
Brilliant presentation! This presentation should be BUZZING with kudos...Writers! Please listen when NovelHelp advises 'FINISH' the manuscript...no typos, no bad grammar, no sloppy formatting. Know your character arcs and your plot lines - work with a book doctor, or editor. The current 'rush to publication' lack of oversight is helping to sully independent publishing. "
