So basically you believe that the AK47 is the only assault weapon with a high MAGAZINE (not clip) capacity? Capacity determines mag size.

You can actually use the gun fairly well with double row magazines and drum close to ground level. Check out pictures of a RPK.

Further, the AK47 wasn't designed for high firing speed. It is simple to maintain, easy to replace parts, and you can break the weapon down in the dark without loosing your hair.

Best of all it works EVERYTIME you pull the trigger.

and then you lay down and try to fire the ak, but then you discover you cant cuss the clip is too big... in other words, this gun wasnt designed for marksmanship but for how the russians (at least back then) fights - "as much led as possible in the air"

actually the trigger is pulled which disengages the sear from the hammer, the hammer strikes the firing pin. firing pin strikes the primer, ignites powder charge, pressure builds, bullet is propelled down the barrel, some of the gas is recycled to push the piston that re-cycles the action, reengaging the hammer with the sear. the recoil spring absorbs recoil then forces the bolt assembly forward picking up an fresh round from the magazine, chambers the fresh round, then the process is repeated

a gun is basic, it smacks the end of the bullet which reacts and the gun powders force has nowhere to go except thwere the barrel is directing it, But the bullet is in the way so it pushes it. The outside of the gun can look like anything but the inside is just a barrel and what ever to smack the end. The clip springs the bullets upward and get pushe d into spot after the used shell flies out.
