@BEBNC1 We're both correct.GM's 1st Big blocks were 5.7L engines with an overhead valve design and the small blocks were more or less identified by there size. nevertheless GM Still called the LT-5 a "small block". As a matter of a fact, they in 1989 made a Chevrolet Corvette ZR2 which was actually a 454 Big Block V8 that unfortunately never made it into production however it was recently auctioned. As for the Callaway, GM sold it and gave it a warranty thus it was a GM product.

@bronxboyXXX not try'n to pick (i know your comment is old) but the LT5 was not a "smallblock" as defined by GM. The smallblock is a single cam pushrod (OHV) 16v V8 (L98, LT1 and 4, LSx)... a much smaller configuration than the OHC engines. The LT5 was an DOHC (4 cam) 32v V8. The Callaway engines were engine options performed by Reeves Callaway and could be ordered through a dealer as an GM dealer option but the modifying was done by Callaway themselves.

the look of the C4 style corvettes turn my stomach ( no curves whatsoever.. C3's are better looking) even though I previously owned an '85, however I can say this one is by the the best

my jaw has dropped...251 miles?!?!?! unbelievable

My favorite Corvette

Nice vid. The LT4 was a magnificent engine (which was grossly underrated) but it was not the Corvettes most powerful 350 small block since 1971. That title goes to the LT5 & Callaway (built for GM) L98 Twin turbos.
